Carl tackles head-on one service user’s violent past, as the father-to-be reveals how an historic conviction for assault against a former partner has come back into the picture.

It is a development that threatens to put the man’s sporting dreams on ice - and Carl investigates how he is dealing with the situation. But with violence against women and girls reaching epidemic proportions across Northern Ireland, Carl reminds him that serious consequences come from serious crimes.

Carl also meets a service user getting his forklift driving licence – before he can even drive a car – and finds out how support from probation, and his peers, is helping him build a new life.
