Manchester City star striker Khadija Shaw has signed a new four-year contract with the club.

There had been uncertainty over her future, with Shaw rumoured to be leaving City just a few days ago, after renewal discussions broke down.

However, Shaw finally announced her new deal on stage at City's end-of-season celebrations.

Earlier this month, the club won their first WSL title in ten years - with Shaw finishing as the league's top scorer for the third season in a row.

Shaw has enjoyed a fantastic WSL season - netting 21 goals in 22 games as City won the league title for the first time since 2016.

She was also named WSL player of the season, for the second time in her career.

Since joining the club in 2021, the Jamaica forward has scored 117 goals in 137 appearances - and is City's record goalscorer.

There were rumours that Chelsea had been favourites to sign her as a free agent.

But Shaw announced her new deal - until 2030 - on stage at City's end-of-season celebrations, where she received the player of the season trophy.

Shaw said: "I am still here, I am still hungry and there is no place I would rather be. I'm happy to announce that I will be staying at the football club."

City face Brighton in the Women's FA Cup final on Sunday at London's Wembley Stadium, as they hunt a domestic double.
