And a photograph could preserve a moment that changed history.
As the saying goes, 'a picture is worth a thousand words', and a new futuristic museum has been built in the US to celebrate them.

The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art opens in Los Angeles on 22 September 2026.
Its building curves above the ground in the city's Exposition Park, looking like a spacecraft that has landed among the trees.
The museum was founded by American filmmaker George Lucas and his wife, business leader Mellody Hobson.
Who is George Lucas?
George Lucas is the famous creator of Star Wars, and also helped create the Indiana Jones adventures with Steven Spielberg.
For 50 years, Lucas has influenced cinema through technology as well as storytelling.
While making the first Star Wars in the 1970s, his visual-effects team used computer-controlled cameras to make small model spacecraft appear to zoom and battle through space.
His companies later helped advance digital sound, editing and computer-generated effects.
In 2002, Star Wars: Attack of the Clones became the first major live-action film shot entirely using a digital camera system.
However, the new attraction is not simply a Star Wars museum. It is dedicated to narrative art.

What is narrative art?
Narrative art tells stories through images.
From next month, visitors will be able to explore factual and fictional storytelling spread across more than 30 galleries.
From Beatrix Potter's much-loved children's illustrations to action-packed comics and Japanese manga and anime.
Other galleries will tell visual stories of historical events and everyday life, including images of childhood, family or school.
Altogether, the museum's collection contains more than 40,000 works, including paintings, photographs, children's illustrations, comics, movie posters, costumes, props and models from Lucas's filmmaking career.
