Every year, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) reveals the 100 most popular girls and boys names in England and Wales, using information from birth registration data.
If you're called Olivia, you share it with the most popular girls' choice for the 10th year in a row.
While Muhammad has topped the boys' list for the third year running.

What are the top girls' names?

Here are the top 10 baby names of 2025 for girls:
Olivia
Lily
Amelia
Isla
Florence
Freya
Poppy
Elsie
Ivy
Isabella
Olivia was chosen for 2,386 babies born in England and Wales last year, making it the most popular choice for girls.
Lily and Amelia followed closely behind, with more than 2,000 girls given each of those names too.
New entries in the top 100 girls' list include Gracie, Marnie, Lilah and Frankie.
The girls' names that saw the largest rise in popularity were Eliana, Anaya and Alba.
However, some girls' choices became less popular in 2025 - including Jessica and Ellie.
What are the top boys' names?

Here are the top 10 baby names of 2025 for boys:
Muhammad
Noah
Leo
Luca
Arthur
Oliver
George
Oscar
Theodore
Freddie
There were 5,957 baby boys called Muhammad, with other spellings of the choice also proving popular.
In fact, Muhammad stayed at the top of the boys' list every single month of the year in 2025.
Some new entries also made it into the top 100, including Carter and Stanley.
Meanwhile, names such as Vinnie and Ruben saw the largest increase in popularity.
But not every choice rose in popularity. Bodhi, Grayson and Brody all dropped out of the top 100 list.
