Performances of Dobrinka Tabakova at BBC Music

Alena Baeva joins Delyana Lazarova and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra as the soloist in Korngold’s filmic Violin Concerto. Bookending the concert are Dobrinka Tabakova’s exhilarating fanfare Orpheus’ Comet and Prokofiev’s lyrical Symphony No. 5

The BBC Concert Orchestra and its Associate Conductor Jérôme Kuhn bring David Buckley’s powerful new opera, Oracle, to the UK for the first time, and mythologically-inspired curtain-raisers by Ralph Vaughan Williams and Dobrinka Tabakova.

The BBC Singers present a concert of repertoire based on musical settings of the Lamentations of Jeremiah. Alongside Thomas Tallis’s famous setting are new works using the lamentations as their inspiration, by Cassandra Miller and Nico Muhly.
