A real Runcorn hotel pub, called Waterloo, is used for the exterior shots of The Archer. The Archer is so named after the show's script editor, Paul Mayhew-Archer. The pub's interior is filmed at BBC Television Centre in London.

Used in the title sequence, this bridge crosses the River Mersey. At 330m it's one of the largest steel arch bridges in the world.

Thrill-seekers will be keen to learn you can sometimes watch the traffic queue on the Runcorn Bridge on the BBCi Liverpool webcam.

Halton Castle is one of the two ruined Norman Castles in Cheshire.

From the castle you can take in views of the River Mersey, Cheshire and the surrounding counties. Gaz and Donna are clearly very interested in this vista.

The Two Pints crew can also be seen mucking about in front of the castle in the opening title sequence.

Seen in the title sequence, these chimneys are part of the Fiddlers Ferry Power Station, Owned by Edison Mission Power.
