Just like tie-dye! Give old clothes new life with this colourful craft

This method uses flower pressing to make a tie-dye effect.

Slide your clothes over the wooden board to create a steady canvas.

Place the flowers face-down on the fabric in whatever arrangement or pattern you like. 

Put a cloth or tea towel over the top (and whilst wearing eye and ear protection, minding your fingers) hammer on top of the flowers. 

When you peel the tea towel away, your flower will have printed onto the clothing. 

This uses pen and hand sanitiser to make a tie-dye effect. 

Put the cups and jars inside the clothes where you want the colour and pattern to appear. 

Place elastic bands over the mouth of the jars to keep them in place. 

Pressing down hard, use your markers to draw your colours and patterns onto the fabric. 

Squirt hand sanitiser on top of your design and watch the colours spread. 

Once the hand sanitiser has dried, take the elastic bands and jars away. The pattern will stay once an adult has put baking paper over the design and ironed the clothes for you.
