How to make a slithering sea serpent
Note: An adult will need to supervise this craft! Please be careful with scissors, painting and pouring.
First, make your potion by mixing paint, water and washing up liquid in a jar. Use a straw to blow into the mixture and watch the bubbles rise. Let the bubbles overflow the jar onto a plate underneath.
Dip your paper cup into the bubbly mixture on the plate and let it dry - this forms your amazing scaly snake pattern. Do this to all of your paper cups.
Fix the dry ones together using a hole punch to stamp a hole near the top of each cup. Place each cup about 1 and a half centimetres inside another cup. Repeat this to create the whole body of your sea snake.
Time to decorate using pens, colourful paper, tissue paper, googly eyes, sequins, pompoms, anything for that scaly effect!
Cut fins and a tongue out of colourful card.
To make your snake jump and swim, punch a hole on the underside of your snake near the front and the back, poke two sticks though and add glue to secure them. Let everything dry, and your snake is ready!
