Writing Retreats at the University of Derby (Online) - for writers, students & general audiences interested in Creative Writing, all welcome
Programme - Writing Retreats 29-31 July 2026
These free online writing retreats, organised by staff of the MA in Creative Writing programme at the University of Derby, are open to anyone interested in creative writing.
All sessions take place 2-5pm. They will include short lectures, workshop time to write & seminar discussion. The 29 July session, led by Programme Leader Christos Callow Jr, is on Developing your Writer Identity. The 30 July session, led by writer and PhD researcher Sarah Margree, is on Sense of Wonder in Science Fiction. The 31 July session, led by writer and lecturer Erica Masserano, is on Writing for Games. Participants will be emailed a link to the online Teams sessions on the day of each writing retreat.
