INK Festival is offering a free series of adult scriptwriting workshops this autumn, led by acclaimed playwright, scriptwriter and theatre director Rob John.

Writing a Short Play is a practical, hands-on course designed to help writers develop the skills needed to create a compelling short play. Participants will explore storytelling, character development, dramatic tension, plot structure and resolution, all within a fifteen-minute format. The aim is for each participant to complete a short play ready for submission to INK Festival 2027. At the final session, writers will have the opportunity to hear their work read by professional actors.
