  2. Tynemouth's North Pier. The lighthouse structure at the end of the pier is made of beige bricks, with white and glass sections at the top. There is a green crane parked in front of it. The pier is made of grey bricks and is surrounded by the choppy waters of the North Sea.

Lanes are marked out with ropes and buoys and the approximately 14 swimmers in shot all appear to be doing the butterfly stroke. At the far end of the pool a number of people sit or stand in front of a white building which has doors and windows with dark frames. On the left hand side of the pool stands a slide, much like a family with a child might have in their garden. A silver ladder leads to the top but the blue slide winds towards the pool.
