Held annually, this is the first time ever that Burton has played host to the event, which is one of the highlights of the waterways calendar.
 | Boats, boats and more boats... Of course though, the main attraction at the festival is the hundreds of boats that will flock to the area for the three-day event.
The famous 'President' steam boat is expected to appear as well as nearly two miles of colourful narrow boats to set your eyes upon.
From sea knots to Staffs knots The festival brings a number of craft workshops, run by some of the most talented craftsmen on the waterways.
They will be on hand to show you skills and pass on tips on all manner of boating and water-themed activities.
Variety... The festival promises everything from jazz bands to theatre among its many acts, and with over 250 exhibitors, there is something to suit everyone's tastes.
A picture-esque flower show will also take place at St Mowdens Church, Market Place Burton Town Centre from the 26th August, between 10am and 4pm.
Family Affair... The festival also has activites on offer for children, adding to the family-flavour of the festival.
The organisers promise traditional puppet shows, as well as a Victorian funfair and water-themed games to get involved in.
So if you fancy a day of sun (hopefully!) and fun, the National Festival and Boat Show runs from the 28th-30th August. | | | |
