| | Halloween is coming to Staffordshire earlier than expected, so ghosts, ghouls and creatures of the night will be terrorising Staffordshire in the near future... But don’t worry there’s no need to hide under your bed sheets, these spooky creatures are purely imaginary!
Share knowledge The Grissecon convention is a place where enthusiasts of fantasy, horror, mystery and magic can gather together to share their knowledge, converse with well respected writers and have a lot of fun. The event will take place over three days at Tillington Hall in Stafford.... tickets range from £40 to £60 depending on when you buy them. Storm
The convention has been arranged to celebrate the publication of The Wraiths of Will and Pleasure the latest novel from Storm Constantine (pictured right), who was born and breed in Stafford.
The world of Storm Constantine’s Wraeththu has proved to have lasting appeal for many fantasy enthusiasts. The Wreaththu are a mythical race who posses psychic powers and the ability, through a process called inception, to transform humans into creatures like themselves.
More about Storm Storm who lives in Stafford, underwent an art college education, but found it too restricting creatively. Her first book, The Enchantments of Flesh and Spirit was published in 1987. Storm has written approximately 1.5 books a year ever since! In the 80s and 90s, she spent some time managing bands, and produced fan club magazines. Storm then worked on Visionary Tongue, which was a regular magazine of dark fantasy/fantasy/science fiction stories. She enlisted the help of several writer friends to act as editors, so that up-and-coming writers would have the chance to work with a professional, and pick up tips about their craft and the industry. |
If you are wondering how Storm Constantine comes up with such surreal concepts then why not ask her at the Grissecon convention.
