We asked for your views on which player Coventry City should keep, loan and sell this summer.

Here are some of your comments:

Will: Keep: Ellis Simms. A lot of fans would've sold him last summer, let alone now we are in the Premier League. But I think his build and brief Premier League experience would make him the ideal second or third choice striker who can come off of the bench. Loan: Oliver Dovin. With a number one, hopefully Carl Rushworth, coming in, Dovin needs to get some minutes under his belt after a season out with injury. It also makes room for an experienced number two to come into the squad as well. Sell: Joel Latibeaudiere. It's hard for me to say this as he was solid last season, but I think he'd struggle for minutes and could get caught out physically if he was playing.

Charlie: Victor Torp has to stay and should start. Norman Bassette go out on loan to Lincoln. Miguel Angel Brau needs to be sold because I just can't see him doing anything in the Premier League.

Karter: A player that is a definite keep is Rushworth, if we manage to get our hands on him this summer. A player to be loaned out would be Kai Andrews, he is clearly not Premier League quality but he has lots of potential. A player that needs selling is Simms, however I don't actually think the club will go and sell him after he scored a hat-trick in the last game of the season. I think he is far too inconsistent, he definitely has his moments but he is not Premier League quality.

Matt: Keep: Josh Eccles. He is the heart and soul of the club, being a local lad, and he improves every season. Loan: Raphael Borges Rodrigues and Kaine Kesler-Hayden. Raphael has the potential to grow but he needs game time. We need to keep Kesler-Hayden happy while Milan van Ewijk keeps him out of the team. Sell: Luke Woolfenden. He is the fourth choice centre-back and he will no doubt drop further, but he is a good player and he deserves to continue his career.

Dale: Keep: Eccles and Torp. They are two players who give a lot to the team, even if it is just in the last 30 minutes of a game. Loan: Dovin. He needs games after a bad injury. Sell: Brau and Jake Bidwell. They were unable to get game time in the Championship, so they need to be replaced with Premier League experienced players.

It's been widely reported that this [club record £20m] bid has come in for Carl Rushworth. Brighton & Hove Albion, as well as being renowned tough negotiators, certainly don't ever comment on anybody going in or out of the club. They are very, very tight-lipped.

We can probably assume that this has happened. One thing that they do do is make sure that the price is right and they never, ever stand in the way of a player who wants to leave.

We have seen this with high-profile players like Moises Caicedo, Joao Pedro and Alexis Mac Allister. So if there was a player who wants to go, the key phrase is if the price is right, then they don't stand in their way. So I think that would be a cause for some sort of optimism for Coventry City fans going forward.

It's important to remember that he has never actually played for Brighton & Hove Albion, they have sent him out on various different loans which is quite common for Brighton.

He's been very, very good on all of them - and of course City fans will know all about that as well. But he has probably never played under [Brighton boss] Fabian Hurzeler so whether he stands in his ideas as a goalkeeper going forward - because they are quite well stacked at the moment - I'd say that probably isn't the case.

I think £20m is a fair price, he's obviously young [24], he's got international experience with the England Under 21s. He is known as a very good all-rounder. When I speak to the squad members and the coaching staff, they feel that he has got all the assets. He's not exceptional at anything but he is very, very good at everything.

He's highly prized. My gut feeling is that he doesn't necessarily feature in Brighton's long-term plans. That £20m figure, they will probably try and eek out a little bit more but if Coventry feel that he is essential for their Premier League season then I think it probably would happen. Brighton won't stand in his way and I think they would want him to progress as well.

BBC Radio CWR's Will Oelrich was joined by Coventry fans on the latest episode of The Sky Blues Fancast.

Discussion surrounded whether loanee goalkeeper, Carl Rushworth will make the permanent move to Coventry for a reported £20m from Brighton & Hove Albion.

Oelrich was joined by fans Heather and Ben in the studio, and they were both happy with the rumoured news.

Rushworth made 123 saves, secured 17 cleans sheets and had a 73.2% save percentage in the Championship 2025-26 season.

Fan Heather told The Sky Blues Fancast: "They're talking £20m. I think he wants to come to Coventry. When you look back at our huge celebrations, he's so much part of that group of players. He wants to be here, we want him to be here. I hope they can get it done quickly so we can stop talking about it."

Rushworth said earlier this year he may need to "leave Brighton to fulfil his ambitions," and Coventry could be that place according to fan Ben.

Ben explained: "You do need to start from the back, I think if we can get the spine, I think in the midfield we just need a little bit more experience.

"If he's got that ambition to improve and go forward with the club, and he is as we all know, England's next number one, then that £20m will be a great investment."

Coventry City supporter and Hawk-Eye employee Abby Morton is heading out to Dallas for the upcoming World Cup.

The Sky Blues fan, who will be responsible for setting up all of equipment for the video assistant referee (VAR), has been giving BBC Radio CWR's Lorna Bailey the lowdown on the perks of her job.

Dallas Stadium will host nine matches and Morton is looking forward to seeing former Coventry striker Viktor Gyokeres in action when Sweden meet Japan in the group stage.

Coventry City have announces performance director Dr Claire-Marie Roberts has left her role.

Dr Roberts joined the club in 2023, external in what was a newly-created role at the time.

In announcing her exit, Coventry pointed to a "highly-successful period in the club's history", adding: "The club has been through significant change in the last three years and her commitment to developing and enhancing the club's performance environment has been highly valued.

"Everyone at the club wishes Dr Roberts every success in her future endeavours."

The team on BBC CWR's Coventry City Fancast have been discussing Victor Torp signing a new deal.

Midfielder Torp, 26, signed from Sarpsborg 08 in January 2024 and has made more than 100 appearances and scored 17 goals.

Supporter Jed told the Fancast: "I think potentially he does deserve a new deal. I definitely think he can play a part in the Premier League. And if we are going to potentially move him on, whether it's next summer, if he's under contract longer it's going to command a bit of a higher price."

Host Will Oelrich is concerned Torp might slip down the Sky Blues' pecking order as new names are linked with midfield berths.

But supporter Connor explained: "If you're a good player in the Championship you may not be a good player in the Premier League as the Championship is 46 games and you need to be a workhorse. Torp can be that but he's so good on the ball, technique is brilliant, crafty. I think he's more of a Premier League player than a Championship player and the higher ups at Coventry have seen that. The kind of qualities he possesses suit the Premier League more than the Championship. It's rare but in his case I think it's true. I genuinely think they have signed him because they think 'this guy is gong to prove himself in the Premier League'."

Coventry City could be set to earn hundreds of thousands of pounds through Fifa World Cup payouts due to two squad members representing their nations at this summer's tournament.

Haji Wright is set to represent hosts United States and Brandon Thomas-Asante has been called up by Ghana. Their appearances could see the Sky Blues rake in a significant amount of money based on how far their sides progress through the competition, according to Dr Tom Bason, Assistant Professor at the Resilience, Business and Society Research Centre at Coventry University.

Speaking on BBC Radio Coventry and Warwickshire, Bason said: "Basically, Fifa recognised that during the World Cup they wanted the players to be concentrated on playing for their countries. But these are players who have contracts with their clubs, so Fifa has a programme where clubs get compensated for giving up their players for a period of time.

"That's a fixed fee, per player, per day. Harry Kane for Bayern Munich will receive the exact same amount of money playing for England as Curacao's third-choice goalkeeper or Thomas-Asante at Coventry City.

"Say Coventry's two players play for three weeks at the World Cup that would see Coventry earn £300,000."

Four members of Coventry City's title-winning side have been nominated for the Professional Footballers Association's Championship Players' Player of the Year award.

Goalkeeper Carl Rushworth, captain Matt Grimes, midfielder Jack Rudoni and striker Haji Wright are all in the running to add another trophy to the Sky Blues' successful season.

Midfielder Grimes, 30, started all 46 of Coventry's league games as they finished 11 points clear at the top of the Championship while Wright, 28, scored 18 goals in all competitions and is part of the USA squad at the World Cup.

Rushworth, 24, spent the season on loan at Coventry from Brighton, keeping 17 clean sheets, while 24-year-old Rudoni scored seven goals, including late winners against Derby and Stoke.

Middlesbrough midfielder Hayden Hackney and Swansea striker Zan Vipotnik, who finished as the Championship's top scorer with 23 goals, have also been shortlisted for the award.

PFA members will vote for the winner who will be announced at a ceremony on Tuesday, 25 August.

Coventry City forward Brandon Thomas-Asante has been named in the Ghana squad for the World Cup which starts next week.

The 27-year-old has made five senior appearances for the Black Stars, scoring one goal which came against Nigeria in a 2-1 Unity Cup defeat at Brentford's Gtech Stadium in May 2025.

Ghana are in Group L for the tournament alongside England, Croatia and Panama and open their campaign against the Panamanians on Thursday 18 June.

The tournament, which is being co-hosted by the USA, Canada and Mexico, is the fifth Ghana have qualified for. They reached the quarter-finals in South Africa in 2010.

The players who helped Coventry City win promotion to the Premier League deserve their chance to show what they can do in the top flight, according to boss Frank Lampard.

After being named the League Managers Association's manager of the year, Lampard is planning for the Sky Blues' first season in the top flight for 25 years.

"We haven't got Premier League minutes in our team. We've got a couple of boys that played, who got 30 appearances or whatever," Lampard said in his acceptance speech on Tuesday night.

"The reality is that these boys have deserved a chance because of the hard work that they did."

Coventry finished 11 points clear at the top of the Championship and midfielder Jamie Allen, who made 23 league appearances during the season is the only senior player to have been released since promotion was clinched.

City will also turn midfielder Frank Onyeka's loan from Brentford into a permanent move on 1 July after he initially joined the club on loan in February.

"Sometimes I think it's not being humble, it's actually just acknowledging and crediting the players, who want to get to the Premier League," added Lampard

"So, we go for it, right? You have to understand what they did. The accomplishment has been amazing from the players because they are the ones who go and do it."

Coventry City striker Haji Wright has been included in the USA squad for this summer's World Cup which starts on 11 June.

The 28-year-old scored 20 goals in all competitions for the Sky Blues this season as they won the Championship title and promotion to the Premier League.

Wright scored on his senior debut for the USA in a 3-0 friendly win over Morocco in June 2022 and has netted a further six goals in his 19 subsequent appearances.

The USA are the tournament's joint hosts, along with Canada and Mexico, and are in Group D with Paraguay, Australia and Turkey.
