Briton Nikki Bartlett and Finland's Henrik Goesch were crowned winners of the Ironman Wales event in Tenby on Sunday.

Goesch won the men's event in a time of eight hours, 31 minutes and 31 seconds to win his first Ironman pro event in wet and windy conditions in West Wales.

Bartlett, champion in 2023, claimed another crown in nine hours, 45 minutes and 37 seconds on what she says is the best course on the circuit.

"I feel on top of the world," she said.

"It's my favourite race. The pro calendar comes out in October or November, and I look straight to see if Ironman Wales has got a pro field.

"I make it my biggest race of the year and I love this place so much. The people, the spectators, the volunteers, everyone here makes Tenby so special."

Thousands of competitors took part in the age-grade competition in what is Tenby's 14th year hosting Ironman Wales.

The Ironman event includes a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride followed by a 26.2-mile run.
