Wakefield Trinity have brought forward the arrival of prop Emre Guler to enable him to feature in this season's Super League run-in.

The Turkish international was due to join Trinity at the start of next season on a three-year contract, but NRL club St George Illawarra Dragons have granted him an early release.

"Emre has been a valued member of our playing group and has handled himself professionally throughout his time at the Dragons," said Dragons chief operating officer Ben Creagh.

"We thank Emre for his contribution to the club, and wish him and his family all the best for the next chapter."

Guler, 28, could make his debut for fourth-placed Trinity against Wigan Warriors on Friday evening, having been included in Daryl Powell's 21-man squad.

The former Canberra Raider has made 126 NRL appearances in all, including 16 appearances for the Dragons this season.
