Aaron Pene only featured in six Super League games in 2026 for Leigh

Leigh Leopards have parted company with prop Aaron Pene with immediate effect.

Pene joined Leigh during the 2024 season on a two-and-half-year contract from NRL side Melbourne Storm, but he will now return to Australia.

The 30-year-old played 15 Super League games for the Leopards, with the last one coming in the win over Warrington Wolves at Magic Weekend.

Leigh are in sixth, the final play-off spot, after losing to neighbours Wigan Warriors last Friday, with six matches of the regular season to go.
