Bluck earns Rugby League World Cup call from Wales

Hannah Bluck is set for Wales international honours in a fourth sport after earning a place in the national squad for the Rugby League World Cup in October.

She has won senior Wales honours in rugby union as well as gaining junior rank recognition in football and basketball. Another former Wales union cap, Ffion Lewis, also makes the cut.

Bluck is one of six uncapped players in the 23-strong squad who will head to Australia, where they face pool games against England, Samoa and the host nation.

Wigan's Bethan Dainton will lead head coach Tom Brindle's squad, which includes nine players from Cardiff Demons, with uncapped Erin Williams among them.

Paige Travis of St Helens also hopes for a first Wales cap having previously played for England.

Brindle has also called up Canterbury Bulldogs skipper Tayla Preston, North Queensland winger Sian Williams and Warrington Wolves winger Hollie Brussels.

Forward Agnes Wood is included having helped York Valkyrie win the Super League Grand Final.
