    The European Gymnastics Championship takes place in Zagreb from 13-16 August.

    The Championships got under way at Arena Zagreb on Saturday, for the Apparatus finals for senior women.

    Brits Ruby Evans and Abigail Martin, who won silver and bronze in the floor exercise in Jakarta will be looking for a spot on this year's podium.

    Evans also recently won Commonwealth gold on the floor, whilst Martin won silver.

    Olympian Becky Downie will be making her return form shoulder surgery after six months.

    Ruby Stacey and Alia Leat are also amongst the brits who will be competing.

    Italy's Manila Esposito of Italy, will be aiming for a third consecutive all-around title in the women's event.

    Esposito alongside Alice D'Amato won silver at the Paris 2024 Olympics competing in the team competition.

    However one to watch is 16-year-old Elena Colas. It is the Frenchwoman's first senior continental championships.
