Tranmere Rovers have re-signed midfielder Ryan Watson on a short-term deal.

The 33-year-old has had two previous spells with the club - one in 2021-22 when he made 22 appearances and another last term when he made six appearances in a short-term deal in the closing stages of the 2025-26 season.

The club have not specified the length of Watson's latest contract.

"He's been with us since the start of pre-season and has shown a fantastic attitude and great ability, too," boss Darrell Clarke said.

"He's a local lad who knows the club well and has worked hard for another opportunity.

"He strengthens our options in midfield and adds to the healthy competition for places we've got at the moment."

He played four times and scored his first professional goal before injury curtailed his move.

"I loved my time here last season, but it ended too soon, and I feel like I've got some unfinished business at Tranmere," he told the club's website, external.
