Birmingham will be hoping [to pull off an upset] but even when Brentford make a lot of changes they have got some exerienced players in there and a good squad.

I think Birmingham need to go strong. They have got a fantastic home record and they got a draw at the weekend [against Bristol City] but didn't play particularly well. You just want to get that win.

You know what, you can progress in this tournament. You never know, it can breed confidence.

I think Brentford have got an outstanding second team so it should be a fascinating game.

Premier League Brentford start their Carabao Cup campaign tonight but Birmingham had to come through Swansea in the first round.

And they did so with flying colours in a 1-0 win.

Now though, the Championship side face a much tougher test.

This is the first match between Nottingham Forest and Leeds since... well Saturday.

Anton Stach's late goal gave United a 1-0 win at the City Ground on the opening day of the Premier League.

Leeds boss Daniel Farke said you "can't really compare" leagueand cup games.

He added: "Our league win is good for our mood and confidence, but this is a 'do or die' cup game.

"Both teams will be motivated to progress, so I expect a tight game. It will be difficult to win on the road again against a tough opponent."

Nottingham Forest make five changes to the side that lost 1-0 to Leeds United on the opening weekend of the Premier League season.

£34m summer signing Ousmane Diomande makes his debut while there is also a first start for Xaver Schlager, the Austria midfielder signed on a free.

All of the attention at the Cardiff City Stadium will be on 15-year-old defender Noah Anyadike, who makes his debut this evening in the midst of the Bluebirds' injury crisis at centre-back.

At 15 years and 98 days, Anyadike becomes the Bluebirds' youngest-ever player, and the youngest player in EFL Cup history, beating Harvey Elliott's (15 years, 174 days) previous record.

Norwich give debuts to Darlin Yongwa and Bruno Alves as they make a raft of changes following a 3-0 defeat to Millwall on Saturday.

Yes, the Football League teams who successfully navigated round one of the League Cup are now joined by 11 the Premier League sides not involved in European commitments.

Arguably the most eye-catching fixture of the round is the all-Premier League clash between Nottingham Forest and Leeds, with the former out for revenge following their opening-game loss in the league.
