It is an all Premier League encounter at the Stadium of Light as Sunderland take on Hull.

The Tigers have made a fine start to life back in the Premier League as they sit third in the table after three games, while Sunderland are 12th.

Hull will certainly happy to emulate the season the Black Cats had last term on their Premier League return, as they surprised all by securing European football for this season.

Hull assistant manager Dean Holden said: “It has been a fantastic start to the season there is no doubt about that.

"When we looked at the start of the season, the games we had on the horizon before the international break, we knew there were some real tough games and still more to come.

"The boys have stood up to the test so far.”

It is going to be a busy campaign for Bournemouth, who have European football to look forward to for the first time in the club's history.

As well as a home game against AC Milan in October, the Cherries fans also have two trips to Spain (Real Sociedad and Celta Vigo), Czech Republic (Sparta Prague) and Norway (Lillestrom) to get excited about, with their Europa League campaign starting on 17 September.

Bournemouth have gone out of the Carabao Cup in round two in both of the past two seasons, although by qualifying for Europe that has meant they don't enter until round three this year.

Newcastle United head coach Matthias Jaissle did not know a great deal about Millwall when the Carabao Cup third-round draw was made.

But tonight's team sheet shows his respect for the injury-hit Championship side and, indeed, the competition as a whole.

Jaissle could have seen the game as an opportunity to make sweeping changes and give summer signings Sean Steur, Aladji Bamba, Bazoumana Toure and Matias Fernandez-Pardo a start.

But it is rather telling that it is only the club's most experienced additions - Lukas Hornicek, Amar Dedic and Nico Gonzalez - who line up tonight.

Jaissle heard it was going to be a "crazy game" at the Den and he is clearly not taking any chances after picking a side dominated by players who have previously played in these sorts of cup ties.

Crystal Palace boss Pierre Sage has made eight changes to his side for the visit of Championship Middlesbrough at Selhurst Park. Only Axel Disasi, Quinten Timber and Yeremy Pino keep their places from their 3-2 win at Fulham on Saturday.

New centre-back Honest Ahanor makes his debut, with Jorgen Strand Larsen, Will Hughes and Ben Chilwell also among those starting.

Midfielder Justin Kluivert and Central defenders James Hill and Antonio Silva are the only players to keep their places in the starting XI.

Millwall have made four changes for the visit of Newcastle United as the teams battle it out for a place in the last 16 of the Carabao Cup.

Goalkeeper Filip Marschall makes his debut for the club after completing his move from Stevenage earlier this month.

Elkan Baggott, Daniel Kelly and Zak Lovelace have also been recalled.
