    FT: Hearts 0-0 Glasgow City

Hearts will be crowned SWPL champions for the first time later on Sunday if Rangers fail to beat Celtic after Eva Olid's side stretched their lead at the summit to five points with a draw against Glasgow City.

The league leaders knew victory over City at Oriam in their penultimate game would secure glory a day after the men's team agonisingly missed out on first-top flight title in 66 years.

But it looked like the weight of history on their shoulders affected Hearts as they were unable to play the free-flowing, attacking football that has propelled them into this position.

An incredibly cagey first half offered up little for either side, though both did go close after the break.

Lauren Wade's teasing free-kick was nearly stabbed in by the stretching Erin Husband, but the Hearts youngster just couldn't extend enough for contact.

Moments later, City substitute Lisa Forrest missed the target with a diving header from close range.

With a desire to do it on their next own, the hosts threw everything at the search for a late winner, but it was City who looked more threatening on the counter, with Emily Whelan calling Rachael Johnstone into a smart stop.

Though the mood was one of a missed opportunity in the capital, there still could be big celebrations tonight should second-place Rangers fail to beat Celtic at 1600 - live on BBC Scotland.
