Wales have absolute belief despite form - Ampadu

Ethan Ampadu hopes to help Wales to a first win since November 2025 when they take on Norway

Ethan Ampadu says Wales have "absolute belief" in their approach as they look to end a demoralising run by beating Norway in the Nations League.
Wales' winless run has stretched to six matches after defeats in their opening League A fixtures in Portugal and Denmark.
Though they make a welcome return to the Cardiff City Stadium, the task does not get any easier as Wales take on Erling Haaland and company on Thursday (19:45 BST) before Sunday's return fixture against Denmark.
But Leeds United captain Ampadu insists there is no doubt within Craig Bellamy's injury-hit squad that they can compete at the top level.
"You aren't in the team meetings or the dressing room, but if you saw how we train and prepare, you'd see complete belief in what we are doing," Ampadu said.

"When you go through difficult spells and tough results, it might be natural for outsiders to question that, but one thing we've always been good at - even during the hardest matches - is resilience and sticking together.
"We know the last couple of games weren't us, and there is complete confidence across the group that we can put that right."
Wales emerged from last week's 1-0 defeat in Lisbon with some credit, having run a star-studded Portugal side close despite being without the likes of Karl Darlow, Joe Rodon and Harry Wilson.
But Bellamy's men endured a dispiriting night in Copenhagen, when they were well beaten by a Denmark side who lost 3-2 in Norway seven days ago.
The latest setbacks mean that in eight games across two spells in Nations League A, Wales have suffered seven defeats and taken only one point, from a home draw against Belgium in June 2022.
Despite the record, Ampadu insists Wales' players "have full confidence in what we can achieve" – and says they want more than victory alone against Norway, who were quarter-finalists at this summer's World Cup.
"We want a win, but we also want a performance to be proud of," the 65-cap star said.
"In recent games, we haven't looked like ourselves. It hasn't been our identity, it hasn't been what we're good at, and it wasn't what earned us promotion to Nations League A in the first place.
"A win will naturally boost everyone's mood, but it has to go hand-in-hand with a display that represents our true identity."
