Swansea City have completed the permanent signing of midfielder Leo Walta from Swedish club Sirius for an undisclosed fee.

Walta, 23, is understood to have agreed a three-year contract with the option of a further 12 months having initially joined the Championship club on loan in February.

Swansea said when Walta arrived in Wales was that the move would be made permanent this summer "subject to conditions".

The Finland international has had to be patient since moving to Swansea, having made 10 appearances - only three of which were starts - in the final three months of last season.

But Walta did end the campaign with a bang by scoring a stunning free-kick against Charlton Athletic on the final day of 2025-26.

Walta joined Swansea after an impressive final campaign in Sweden in which he scored 17 times across all competitions.

He will be hoping to make a greater impression at Swansea in 2026-27 after taking part in his first pre-season with the club.
