'O'Neil is getting the best out of him' - fans on Davis

On this week's BBC Radio Suffolk Blue Hour fans' forum podcast, Ipswich Town supporter Callum says he believes Leif Davis is getting "back to his best" under new boss Gary O'Neil's management.
Davis has impressed early in this campaign in the Tractor Boys' first season back in the Premier League after suffering relegation in 2024-25. However, that year, under former boss Kieran McKenna, the left-sided defender struggled to get to grips with top-flight football after being a standout player in Ipswich's charge up the divisions from League One. The club and Davis failed to kick on from that winning momentum and took three months to get their first win under their belts.
This season, Ipswich have already won two league games before October and sit in mid-table after five games, with Davis playing a major part in all things positive so far.
Ipswich Town fan Callum said: "In terms of his attacking play, he's back to what we know best in terms of his output of goals and assists. He has two goals already and I think he could probably have four, five or six already.
"He missed one at Everton, missed one at Manchester United, and the header against Liverpool which was probably our best chance of the game.
"Gary O'Neil is clearly getting the best out of his game from an attacking sense, which is good to see, and defensively he looks so much better than he did a year ago as well.
"His all-round play going forward hasn't been to the detriment of his work off the ball and nullifying opposition wingers, because we know how many good wingers there are in the Premier League that are difficult to come up against.
"Gary O'Neil is getting the best out of him, so long may that continue."
