'Astonishing' Gabriel, a Lacey double and no place for Amass

Manchester United forward Shea Lacey scored twice as Adam Lawrence's side continued their winning start to their Premier League 2 campaign by beating Leicester 4-1 at Leigh.

Lacey has been on the bench for both United's Premier League games so far this season and was brought on during the second half as Michael Carrick's side suffered a shock defeat at Hull.

The 19-year-old was not involved against Ipswich, and dropped into Lawrence's PL2 starting line-up instead, making a telling impact with two first-half goals, the first of which was a beautiful low drive from the edge of the area after cutting in from the right wing.

He was replaced after an hour by another academy star, 15-year-old JJ Gabriel, who scored an astonishing goal near the end, taking possession inside the area with his back to goal, beating one defender with a drag back, then skipping past another before finishing from six yards.

Significantly, full-back Harry Amass was not involved amid conflicting reports over the 19-year-old being in talks with Burnley.

It is anticipated Amass will move away from Old Trafford before Tuesday night's deadline.
