Jersey Bulls' win over Kingstonian extended their unbeaten league run to 27 matches

Jersey Bulls coach Dave Kennedy hailed his depleted side as they won 2-0 at Kingstonian in Isthmian League South Central Division.

A number of experienced players were unavailable for the trip to the former National League side, including Bulls captain James Queree, who was getting married.

But Casey Nixon's goal on the stroke of half-time gave the islanders the advantage before Sammy Henia-Kamau scored his third league goal of the season with 21 minutes to go.

The win - Bulls' sixth in nine unbeaten league matches - keeps them second in the table, eight points off leaders Bognor Regis Town with two games in hand

"It was always going to be a big ask - that was a lot of experience that wasn't on the pitch today," Kennedy told BBC Radio Jersey.

"We've had to move Jarma [Mohamed] to right-back, who I thought was excellent, and then Toby Ritzema, who, as everybody knows, is a real threat for us up top. We've asked him to do a job in his centre-half and I thought he was excellent alongside Jamie Watling.

"Even on the left-hand side, that was the first game that James Carr has started for us now for probably since the start of the season and he slotted in really, really well and I thought we were effective doing that left-hand side in the partnership that he had with Sammy and it caused them a lot of problems throughout the game."

The victory extended Jersey Bulls' unbeaten run in the league to 27 games - a sequence that goes back to 30 December 2025.

It was the island side's fifth clean sheet of the season in all competitions and a second in a row.

"I think they're the third-top goalscorers in the league and they were always going to create chances," added Kennedy.

"Clearly we set up in such a way to make sure we're always going to be hard to beat and I'm really pleased that we managed to get a clean sheet.

"I thought Euan [van der Vliet] was excellent as well. He pulled out a couple of great saves but I thought even how he marshalled the back four in front of him throughout the game was really what we needed in a game like that.

"It was going to need 11 leaders to get us through this and it's difficult to even pick a man in the match because I thought we were excellent."
