Millwall sign Scotland's Dykes on one-year deal

Millwall have signed Scotland striker Lyndon Dykes on a one-year contract following the end of his deal with Charlton Athletic.

The 30-year-old has been capped 53 times by Scotland and was part of their World Cup squad this summer.

He played 20 games for Charlton, scoring three goals, after joining the club in January and had been offered a new deal to stay with the London side.

"He's a genuine target man - physical, hard to knock off the ball, and someone who'll give defenders a different problem to deal with," Millwall director of football Steve Gallen told the club website., external

"We've also seen how demanding this League can be, so he also adds some key depth in the attacking area."

Dykes, who is Millwall's ninth signing of the summer, previously played for Birmingham City, scoring seven goals in 55 games.

He began his career in Scotland with Queen of the South and Livingston before a four-year spell at QPR where he made more than 160 appearances.
