Championship newcomers Lincoln City have signed Romania international defender Andrei Coubis from Universitatea Cluj, subject to a work permit and international clearance.
The fee is undisclosed but BBC Radio Lincolnshire reported it is a club record., external
The 22-year-old, a product of AC Milan's youth system, made his international debut for Romania earlier this year.
Coubis has signed a five-year contract with the Imps.
Lincoln sporting director Jez George told the club website:, external "Andrei has elite physical attributes, plays with real aggression, shows composure in possession, fits our profile in this position perfectly and has a really high ceiling."
