Rotherham sign former Wrexham striker Mullin

Rotherham United have signed former Wrexham striker Paul Mullin on a two-year deal.

The 31-year-old scored 91 goals in 148 league appearances for the Red Dragons as they won promotion from the National League up to the Championship.

However, his last league appearance for the club came in January 2025 and he spent last season on loan in League One with Wigan and then Bradford.

His contract with the Welsh side had been due to run until the end of this season but was terminated by mutual consent in June.

He scored four goals across 29 appearances in the third tier for the Latics and Bantams last season.

However, the Millers will hope he can rediscover the form he has shown in his previous two campaigns in League Two.

He scored 32 goals in 46 games to help Cambridge United to promotion in 2020-21 and then netted 24 times in 38 matches as Wrexham went up to League One in 2023-24.

Mullin, whose bond with Wrexham's Hollywood owners Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds saw him cameo in a Deadpool film alongside the latter, could now make his debut for Alex Bruce's side in the EFL Cup first round tie against West Brom on Saturday, 8 August.
