Nick Powell has signed a new one-year deal to stay at Bradford City this season.

The 32-year-old midfielder, who joined the Bantams from Stockport County last summer, played 14 games for the club last season after suffering a hamstring injury which kept him out for six months.

He has had a prolific pre-season, scoring goals in friendlies against Halifax Town, SV Gmunden, Preston North End and Salford City, after being given the chance to earn a new deal.

Bradford manager Graham Alexander said:, external "Nick's decision to come back in pre-season and show what he can offer proved his desire to everyone here."
