Swansea target Porto's Canada midfielder Eustaquio

Swansea City are in talks with Porto over a deal for Canada international midfielder Stephen Eustaquio.
The Swans hope to finalise a permanent deal for Eustaquio, who captained his country for much of this year's World Cup and scored the winning goal in their round of 32 win over South Africa.
The 29-year-old has played for Porto since 2022, and featured as a substitute in their Primeira Liga game against Rio Ave earlier this month.
However, it appears the Portuguese giants are willing to sell a player who managed 12 appearances in the first half of last season before joining Los Angeles FC on loan.
Eustaquio, who also played at the 2022 World Cup, has 61 caps and is Canada's vice-captain.
He wore the armband for much of this year's tournament as a result of regular skipper Alphonso Davies' fitness struggles.
Born in Canada to Portuguese parents, Eustaquio moved to Portugal as a child. He played for Portugal at under-21 level before committing to Canada.
Having begun his senior club career with Torrense, Eustaquio moved on to Leixoes and then into the Portuguese top flight with Chaves.
He briefly played in Mexico for Cruz Azul before returning to Portugal with Pacos Ferreira and then signing for Porto.
Swansea have been looking to strengthen their midfield having sold Ethan Galbraith to Stoke this summer and said farewell to Malick Yalcouye after his loan spell from Brighton.
