Denmark striker Amalie Vangsgaard said she is "very happy and very excited for this new adventure" after joining Women's Super League side Aston Villa.

Vangsgaard arrives from Juventus for an undisclosed fee.

The 29-year-old scored 11 goals in 62 appearances for the Serie A side.

"I'm really excited and I think it's a very strong league. I'm very excited to get into the football world of England," Vangsgaard said.

"I see that the club is really valuing the women's team and the facilities are really good and I can't wait to work here in pre-season and get started.

"I'm a very forward attacking player. I like to run deep and I like to create chances and score, creating value for the team."

Vangsgaard made her Denmark debut in 2022 and has scored 14 goals in 46 games.
