Bristol City manager Michael Skubala says the team are trying to "solve" their inconsistent home form after a third loss of the campaign at Ashton Gate.

The Robins were beaten 1-0 by Blackburn on Tuesday, despite having 20 shots to the visitors' three, to go with previous losses to Millwall and Lincoln.

Skubala said he believed part of the issue was being unable to deal with the way away teams are setting themselves up when they come to their ground.

"It's something we're trying to solve," Skubala said.

"But I do think it's something where the opposition come with a low block, the opposition come with a back five, the opposition come to make it tricky and work on the counter-attack.

"If we score first in that game [against Blackburn] it's a very different game. We have to learn and grow and develop and it's something I'm working on hard with the players at Ashton Gate, how we not only how we create chances but we keep solid as well."

City have also scored just three goals at home this season - the joint lowest in the Championship with Skubala's former side Lincoln.

Skubala, who took over during the summer, agreed his side were "not scoring enough".

"I know it's not about data and stats but if you come out of a game with that amount of chances you're generally happy with the tactical aspects and structure," he said.

"We've been very good in transition, moments in the game we look a real threat.

"We have to keep developing with the ball when teams are a little bit lower and how we can break them down and we haven't quite gelled on that or found the synergy in those situations. "

Bristol City host Sheffield United on Saturday and confirmed they would still be without defender Noah Eile and Joe Williams, while Tomi Horvat is also uncertain.

While Williams and Horvat are expected back in the next week or so, Eile's return date is less certain as he recovers from poor health rather than an injury.

"He needs to have more assessments to really dig into that a bit deeper with the doctors, he's quite poorly," Skubala said.

"[Noah's] probably trained two or three times in four weeks so not only is he poorly and ill and we wish him the best and a quick recovery, even when he's back it's going to take him a bit of time to get into training."
