Gillingham have signed midfielder Nick Freeman following the end of his deal with Shrewsbury last season.

The 30-year-old can play in defence or at wing-back and has been on trial with the Gills, featuring in two pre-season matches.

He scored one goal in 16 games for Shrewsbury after joining them in January, having previously spent two and a half years with Stevenage where he played 86 games.

Freeman was part of the Wycombe team that won promotion to the Championship in 2020 during seven years with the club, while he has also played for Leyton Orient.

Gillingham have not disclosed the length of his contract.
