Midfielder Kyle Dempsey has become Port Vale's fourth signing of the summer after he agreed a two-year deal with the League Two club.

Dempsey, 30, arrives from Bolton Wanderers where he made 161 appearances over three and a half seasons with the Trotters.

He won promotion from League One last term and was also part of the side that clinched the EFL Trophy in 2023, scoring Bolton's opening goal in their 4-0 thumping of Plymouth at Wembley.

Dempsey follows defender Jasper Moon, goalkeeper Jackson Smith and midfielder Matthew Craig into Vale Park so far this summer as the club begins life back in the fourth tier after relegation from League One in 2025-26.

Boss Jon Brady said Dempsey's qualities are the kind "we're looking to build our team around".

"He's fiercely competitive, a natural leader and someone who sets high standards every single day," Brady told the club website., external
