Newly promoted Flintshire rivals Airbus UK and Holywell Town had contrasting results on their return to the Novira Cymru Premier.
Airbus, who failed to win a game in their last spell in the Cymru Premier in 2023, won 1-0 at Haverfordwest County.
Josh Stevenson scored The Wingmakers' winner with five minutes remaining at Bridge Meadow to give Mark Allen's men the perfect start to the campaign.
Holywell Town's return to the Cymru Premier after a 27-year absence ended with a 6-1 defeat at Cardiff Met in their opening game of the season.
Jasper Payne gave Met the lead after nine minutes when he ran into the area before firing an unstoppable shot past Alex Swindell.
The hosts' early dominance was rewarded with a second goal five minutes late with James Clarke scoring.
Cardiff Met finished ninth in last season's Cymru Premier while Holywell were third in the Cymru North
Fumpa Mwandwe added a third following a Met counter attack.
Met should have added a fourth goal before the break but Swindell saved CJ Craven's penalty.
Holywell pulled a goal back with a cross from Jack Sconce deceiving goalkeeper Aaron Davies and ending up in the back of the net.
But despite their best efforts to get back into the game, Payne scored two goals in three minutes to complete his hat-trick.
Sam Jones sealed victory for Ryan Jenkins' side with a sixth goal late on.
