Olympic and defending world champions are competing at the 2026 Track World Championships, with 22 titles up for grabs and qualification spots for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics also at stake.

Day one was an eventful day for Ireland, with Lara Gillespie securing the country’s first medal of the World Championships. Team GB claimed silver in the women’s team sprint, with China taking gold, while the Netherlands won the men’s team sprint, finishing ahead of Australia and China.

Today, in the men’s team pursuit final, France and Team GB will battle it out for bronze after a tense qualifying and first-round, in which defending world champions Denmark took the lead. In the women’s team pursuit first round, Team GB will face the Netherlands, while Germany will face 2025 women's team pursuit champions, Italy.
