Phil Salt must be the most boom or bust player I’ve ever seen. Unfortunately more bust than boom.

  2. Eng 1-2published at 1 over

Jacob Bethell, wisely, defends the last ball of Arshdeep Singh's over.

It's the worst ball of the over from Arshdeep Singh. Jos Buttler is unlucky, timed it beautifully but hit it straight to the fielder. A dream start for India. This game feels 50-50, suddenly!

  4. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 0.5 overs

    Buttler c Varun b Arshdeep Singh 0

Jos Buttler has a bit of a waft - similar to the ball which got Phil Salt - but he plays and misses at Arshdeep Singh.

Next ball, Buttler flicks a fuller delivery to mid-wicket...but straight into the hands of the fielder at mid-wicket.

Buttler timed that well enough alright, but just picked out Varun Chakaravarthy who took a sharp catch above his head.

    India's batting today:

    • Overs 1-13: 130-3
    • Overs 14-19.5: 37-3
    • Last Seven balls: 23-1
  6. Eng 1-1published at 0.2 overs

That brings England skipper Harry Brook to the crease.

He pushes Arshdeep Singh towards mid-off to get off the mark straight away.

One ball in and all of a sudden 191 seems like a massive score.

    Salt c Kishan b Arshdeep 0 (Eng 0-1)

    Gone first ball!

Phil Salt has a bit of a waft at a brisk delivery first up from Arshdeep Singh - attempting to cut - but ends up edging it into the gloves of Ishan Kishan.

    Nightmare start for England.

Right, Arshdeep Singh has the ball in hand and is at the top of his mark.

Phil Salt has just scratched his guard at the striker's end.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is on merit. He's broken down the door down and forced the team managers and selectors to pick him.

    Thanks, Tim.

Now if you've just joined us and you're wondering how Vaibhav Sooryavansh got on with the bat on his debut at 15 years and 99 days.

He made a 10-ball 14, striking two sixes, before being stumped by Jos Buttler off the bowling of Will Jacks.

  12. England need 191 to winpublished at 16:25 BST

This is all set to be a fascinating run chase, so i will hand over to Timothy Abraham who is pawing the ground impatiently at the end of his run-up to bring it to you.

I think England will be delighted to be chasing 191 given it could have looked a lot worse. India will be slightly disappointed they are not above 200. Their middle order got carried away in the moment and did not recognise the situation. England have to get them, so it's poised for a good game.

    India 190-7

India started like a train but some fine bowling and good catching has pegged them back.

How are we feeing about that? Let us know via the Get Involved section on here.

    Harshit Rana c Buttler b Archer 6 (Ind 190-7)

Harshit Rana flashes at a short one outside off, but gets a juicy edge through to Jos Buttler.

  17. Ind 190-6published at 19.5 overs

A rapid bouncer isn't called wide, and a slice goes to third where India run a single.

Harshit on strike for the last ball of the innings.

Jofra Archer has a tendency, coming back to bowl at the death, to get caught up in in the idea of bowling slower balls. I'd be going full and quick, or using the bumper.

  19. Ind 189-6published at 19.3 overs

Tilak Varma reaches to a wide one outside off stump, but still gets enough on it for glean a four to third.
