Kyles Athletic have been relegated from the Premiership following a 1-0 defeat by fellow relegation candidates Col Glen at Clachan of Glendaruel.

However, the victory was of limited help to Col Glen's own efforts to avoid the drop since Skye defeated Caberfeidh 4-2 in Strathpeffer.

Yet another postponement at Kinlochshiel's Rearaig ground, where Kingussie were due to visit, means that the title may not now be decided until 7 November.

A 4-1 defeat of already-promoted Lovat at the Winterton helped Inveraray become the only south area team in the top half of the second tier National Division.

Andrew MacVicar scored Col Glen's goal late in the second half of the South Argyll derby.

In Strathpeffer, Blair Morrison opened for Cabers midway through the first half but a goal in either half from Dan MacDonald, the second a penalty, gave Skye the lead.

Caberfeidh drew level with a Craig Morrison penalty before Archie Millar edged Skye in front again and then sealed the points in stoppage time.

This leaves Col Glen still in the second relegation place, two points behind Lochaber and Skye who have one and four games in hand respectively.

Should Col Glen accompany Kyles in the drop, this would leave Oban Camanachd as the only South Area team in next season's Premiership, above a National Division with only two North sides.

The Camanachd Association are due to report in the second half of October on possible league changes in the light of major concerns about the resulting travel, including an open letter from the Beauly club.

Kingussie need to win all three of their remaining games, including the visit of leaders Newtonmore on 10 October, to retain their title.

Allan MacDonald, Coll MacKay and a Fraser Watt double saw Inveraray through at The Winterton where there was a late reply from Iain Nicholson.
