
The 2011 Norman Beaton Fellowships have been awarded to:

CHRISTOPHER WEBSTER
Victoria and Christopher came to the event via a workshop at the Theatre by the Lake, Keswick. Both join the Radio Drama Company on Saturday 23rd July, along with this year’s Carleton Hobbs Bursary Award winners Francine Chamberlain, Alex Rivers, Adam Billington and Rikki Lawton.
This year, the judges awarded three runners-up prizes to NBF finalists. Their names and the theatres through whose workshops they joined NBF 2011 are below:
Kerry Gooderson............. Yellow Earth (London)
Amaka Okafor…………….. Birmingham Repertory Theatre
Each of them will be cast via a freelance engagement in one of Radio Drama's 2011 summer/autumn/winter productions.
This year, nine theatre companies from around the UK joined forces with Radio Drama in workshopping talent new to Radio: Tron Theatre, Theatre by the Lake, Birmingham Repertory Theatre, National Theatre of Wales, Kabosh, Graeae Theatre Company, Yellow Earth Theatre, Theatre Royal Stratford East and Tamasha. From the many actors who took part, 12 finalists were auditioned on 29th March at Bush House London by this year's judges who were Jeremy Mortimer (Drama Executive and Chair), Sasha Yevtushenko (Drama Producer), Sandra Boyce (agent), Nina Wadia (actor) and Rebecca Wilmshurst (Drama Production Executive).
