Winners: Norman Beaton Fellowship 2009 Winners


The 2010 Norman Beaton Fellowships have been awarded to:

DEEIVYA MEIR

ADEEL AKHTAR


Deeivya came to the event via a workshop at Stratford East and Adeel via a workshop hosted by the Tamasha in London. Both join the Radio Drama Company on Saturday 24th July, along with this year’s Carleton Hobbs Bursary Award winners Pippa Bennett-Warner, Claire Harry, Iain Batchelor and Henry Devas.

This year, the judges awarded three runners-up prizes to NBF finalists. Their names and the theatres through whose workshops they joined NBF 2009 are below:

Karina Jones............. Graeae Theatre
Chandeep Uppal.............Birmingham Rep
Padraig Wallace.............Kabosh, Belfast

Each of them will be cast via a freelance engagement in one of Radio Drama's 2010 summer/autumn/winter productions.

This year, nine theatre companies from around the UK joined forces with Radio Drama in workshopping talent new to Radio. From the many actors who took part, 12 finalists were auditioned on 23rd March at Bush House London by this year's judges who were Peter Leslie Wild (Drama Producer and chair), David Hunter (Drama Executive), Sandra Boyce (agent), Adjoa Andoh (actor) and Rebecca Wilmshurst (Drama Production Executive).
