Paintings worth millions stolen from French museum

Thieves have broken into a museum in southern France dedicated to the impressionist painter Pierre-Auguste Renoir, stealing two works of art worth millions of dollars. The thieves made off with four paintings, but two were abandoned in the museum's garden as they rushed from the scene. Museum security is a growing concern in France, especially after the high-profile heist at the Louvre in Paris a year ago. We speak to art detectives, dealers and experts to find out more. The UK has announced a ban on goods produced in Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank. France, Canada and nine other European countries will do likewise. Mr Miliband accused the Israeli government of turning a blind eye to what he described as the "ethnic cleansing" of Palestinians by Jewish settlers and said its inaction was undermining the possibility of a two-state solution. Israeli Foreign Minister called Miliband's comments "outrageous lies" and announced that Israel will close the British consulate in Jerusalem.
