Russia holds scaled back Victory Day amid Ukraine ceasefire

Weekend

Available for 29 days

Russia and Ukraine announce a temporary ceasefire as Moscow holds its annual Victory Day celebrations commemorating the defeat of Nazi Germany in 1945. Much of the customary military hardware, usually paraded through Red Square, will be tied up in Ukraine. Also on the programme: Mexico's schoolchildren are getting an extra 40 days off this summer as their country co-hosts the World Cup, but many parents aren't happy with that plan. And we mark 100 years of David Attenborough on planet Earth. Joining Rebecca Kesby are Rachel Kyte, Special Representative on Climate for the British Government and a Professor of Climate Policy at the University of Oxford, and Mark MacKinnon, foreign correspondent for Canada’s Globe and Mail newspaper.
