The demonstrations - over a lack of teachers, overcrowded classrooms and run-down buildings - started earlier last week in Paris then spread across the country. France's justice minister, Gerald Darmanin, says: "We have gone from high-school student demonstrations to a public order disturbance". The US has withdrawn all twelve of its B1 bombers from an airbase in southern England which had been the target of - what was called - a suspected terrorist plot a week ago. The aircraft had launch attacks on Iran. Brazil's presidential election is heading to a second-round run-off, after neither of the main candidates won a majority. Flavio Bolsonaro -- a son of the detained former president Jair Bolsonaro -- was two percentage points ahead of the incumbent president Lula da Silva.
