US and Iran exchange new strikes

The US military says it has launched "self-defense" strikes on Iran and shot down ballistic missiles and drones fired at ships and Gulf countries. The strikes on Qeshm Island, in the Strait of Hormuz were "in response to attempted attacks by Iran across the Middle East". The latest attacks come amid stalled ceasefire negotiations. We look at the mandatory evacuation order for more than seven thousand people to leave their homes in the north-eastern Kharkiv region in Ukraine. It follows strikes by Russia earlier this week. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has told Congress that the Trump Administration will re-engage with the global vaccine alliance amid the Ebola outbreak in central Africa.
