Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin meet in Beijing

Newsday

Available for 29 days

The Chinese president, Xi Jinping, has warmly welcomed Vladimir Putin to the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, as the two leaders try to demonstrate the strength of their relationship, just days after a visit by Donald Trump. Mr Xi warned the world was in danger of reverting to the law of the jungle, an apparent reference to the war in the Middle East. The number of suspected Ebola cases in the eastern DRC has continued to grow, with the WHO warning it could reach 1000 in the coming days. We go live to Bunia, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the epicentre of the latest conflict. And after a two decade wait Arsenal have won the Premier League.
