Artemis II blasts towards Moon

Newsday

Available for 28 days

The crew of Nasa's Artemis II mission has just made a critical move to push out of our planet's orbit towards the Moon. That's called a "translunar injection burn" and lasted for some six minutes. It's first time that humans have left Earth's orbit since 1972, during NASA's last manned mission to the Moon. We catch up with Nasa to find out how the mission is going. There have been a couple of high profile departures at the top of American political and military life. The Attorney General, Pam Bondi, seen as a fierce defender of the Trump Administration, has nevertheless been removed. There had been criticism of her handling of the Epstein files. And the US Defence Secretary, Pete Hegseth, has asked the Army Chief of Staff, General Randy George, to step down and retire immediately, an extraordinary move amid an ongoing war with Iran. The US and Israel have carried out widespread air strikes across Iran, a day after President Donald Trump repeated his threat to bomb the country back to the stone age. So with such ongoing threats, what is the mood among the people of Iran? We hear from people inside the country. Presenters: James Copnall and Catherine Byaruhanga. (Photo: Artemis II mission.
