How a Shropshire charity is fighting extinction

Available for over a year

Nature's SAFE in Whitchurch has reached a major milestone in its fight against extinction. They freeze and store cells from 200 endangered species, ranging from African elephants to Scotland’s wildcats in liquid nitrogen at –196°C to create a cryogenic “time capsule”. Tullis Matson from the charity hopes that in the future animals could be revived "just by thawing them out". Tullis spoke to BBC Radio Shropshire's Clare Ashford.
